How to get to Oslo from Gardermoen airport

Depending on the time, cost and comfort you're looking for, the following is a list of options that are available to you:

Transfer services

The most comfortable way of getting into Oslo from the airport is by booking a transfer service. The driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals area of the airport and will take you directly to your hotel. You'll have absolutely nothing to worry about.

NSB Train

Oslo's regional trains are the best option for getting into the city. The journey takes around 25 minutes (only 5 minutes longer than the Flytoget express train) and is a much cheaper option (92 kr (US$ 8.30)).

These trains don't have space available for luggage and they're less frequent than the express train (every 30 minutes). However, this is the better option concerning time and price.

Flytoget Airport Express

The quickest way to get into the centre of Oslo is to take the direct train departing from the airport. The duration of the journey is only around 20 minutes, and it leaves every 10 to 20 minutes.

The price of a ticket is 190 kr (US$ 17) and can be easily purchased at the Flytoget stalls in the airport. The train is also fitted with sockets, WiFi and additional space where you can leave your suitcase. Please be aware that a ticket discount is not available for a return journey ticket.

Bus

Another way of getting from Oslo's airport into the city is by taking the Flybussen bus, which connects the airport to the city centre. The journey takes around 45 minutes to an hour and makes several stops around the city, allowing you to hop off near your hotel.

The ticket costs around 169 kr (US$ 15.20), with a discount available to those who purchase their tickets online.

Taxi

If you have a lot of luggage and would prefer to take a taxi from the airport to the city centre, the journey takes around 40 minutes. With this option, the price can increase considerably and is a much slower option than the train, and therefore, isn't an overly popular option.
