By plane
Oslo has 2 main airports: Gardemoen and Torp. Currently, the majority of lower-cost airlines don't offer direct flights from the likes of Ireland and the UK. However, those that do fly directly usually fly into Gardermoen.
The most important airline is Norwegian Airlines, although their prices are not very competitive. Direct flights from London to Oslo are operated by the likes of Norwegian, Scandinavian Airlines and British Airways. From Dublin, there are also flights available with KLM.

Flights from the U.S
Direct flights are also available from the United States to Oslo. For example, a direct flight from New York to Oslo will set you back anywhere from € 1,500 (US$ 1,590) (Scandinavian Airlines). Of course, there are also options which include layovers, which are considerably cheaper: € 500 (US$ 530) to € 1,000 (US$ 1,060). Direct flights from other major cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles do not run. Flights with layovers from these cities begin at around € 530 (US$ 561.80) and run with airlines such as British Airways and Lufthansa.
Flights from Canada
Direct flights from Canada to Oslo are also not very popular. A flight with a layover from Toronto to Oslo can range from € 1,700 (US$ 1,802) to € 2,400 (US$ 2,544), with airlines such as Iceland Air and Air Canada.

How do you get to the centre of Oslo from the airport?
By boat
The majority of tourists that come to Oslo by boat arrive on a cruise ship coming from other Nordic countries and they only get to enjoy 1 day in the capital. Therefore, we recommend considering other options if you're thinking about arriving by boat.
Boats docking in Oslo usually arrive from other major northern European cities such as London or Amsterdam. Once in Oslo, the passenger boats dock at the harbours close to the city hall or Akershus Fortress. These 2 locations are very near the city centre and you'll have no issues walking from there. Oslo is practically built on the seashore!
By train
Although this is the least common option, if you're arriving in Oslo by train, your final destination will be Oslo's Central Station. Here, you'll find other trains, the metro and buses that will take you anywhere in the city.
