Trams in Oslo

Oslo's tram network has 6 lines which run all around the capital's city centre. This mode of transport, known in Norwegian as "trikken" is rather old. However, it remains a good option for getting to the not-so-central parks and neighbourhoods.

Lines

6 lines go around Oslo's city centre with nearly 100 different tram stops. The most popular destinations to reach via the tram are the Vigeland Sculpture Park, Aker Brygge, which lies on the shoreline near the harbour, and the Grünerløkka district.

Schedules and frequency

The trams come and go every 10 minutes during the day and around every 20 minutes at night.

Where can I buy tickets?

The best option for buying tickets for Oslo's tram is at the machines in the metro stations (recognisable by a T inside a circle), at tourist information points and in supermarkets like Narvesen, Deli de Luca or 7-Eleven.

Don't throw away your ticket until you've arrived at your destination, as there are inspectors on the carriages who may ask to see it.
